Changing Models of Ownership & Value Exchange
Last year, Claro completed an open-innovation project with five international clients. The aim was to better understand how the perception of ownership (products, services and even experiences) are changing, together with providing insights about how these changes will impact businesses in the near future.
Project approach: We strongly believe that the way people experience ownership and their expectations about value exchange will be increasingly important to businesses in the coming years. In order to provide an understanding of these changes, we interviewed internal stakeholders within each client organisation, spoke to experts on the concept of ownership and conducted ethnographic research with consumers around the world (US, Brazil, India, China, Denmark, Japan and Spain).
Results: In October, 2010, we conducted a workshop attended by representatives from all participating companies, followed by individual sessions with each client company to apply the insights, scenarios, assessment and planning tools developed during the project. This will enable them to prepare for the future of ownership for their particular product, service, brand, competitive landscape and geographic markets.
